Design Your Life, Live Your Vision!
Why Only 90 Days!

Now here’s the beauty of the book. In ninety days, it’s going to be gone. You'll have a journal of how you invested the previous ninety days, then what do you do? You start over in a new book. Guess what you have to write all over again? You have to write your VISION all over again, and then you have to write your MISSION all over again, and then you have to write your GOALS all over again—Every 90 DAYS. Can you stand it? You might actually begin to remember your goals if you have to write them every ninety days. Think about it. When do you write out your goals? On January 1st? Or after a good workshop? And then those goals disappear into your little spiral and you tuck it away in your little file or your pile, and then you never see them again. Then you go to your next workshop, or your next New Year’s Eve experience and start this madness all over again and without goal completion or success. And we’re some of the most goal-oriented people in the whole world, and that’s how we do it! Well not any more!!

I will tell you that ninety days is magical. The first thirty days you feel like you work like a dog and you see nothing. Ever been there? Here’s the difference. You have to go the next thirty days. During the 60 day cycle you feel it coming. You don’t necessarily see it yet, but you feel it coming. And then in the last lap up to the completed ninety days, you begin to see the fruits of your consistent and persistent efforts. It’s true that you can change a relationship in ninety days, you can change your body in ninety days, you can change your career in ninety days—anything can change in ninety days. Make sure to re-order! Keep the momentum going!! Before you know it, you will be living the disciplined and successful life you dream about, and YOU DESIGNED IT!

Affirmations are short sentences that affirm positive behaviors you want to adopt. Example: "I wake up quickly and easily each morning with energy to exercise!"
  • Master Task List
This is where you list all of those things that clutter your mind that need ‘doing’. Make separate list for Personal and Business.
Example: Personal - Clean closet, hire painter to paint the porch, order mulch.

At the end of a 7-day week…It is time to deal in reality…Acknowledge with thought as you REFLECT: What you did well, What you can improve, and review your goals. Is your heart into them? If not, change the goal or change your attitude and action.
  • Design
And then DESIGN your new week! What didn’t get done? Go to your Master Task Lists - Can anything from there fit into this week? What must you focus on this week? Daily? (I usually write drink 8 glasses of H20, initiate calls to 3-5 leaders…something like that) and then design the weekly plan and 6 most for next day and commit again to your goals!!!
  • Projects
What projects are you working on? A HOLIDAY open house? A Velocity Girl contest? Quarterly Awards for your unit/future area? Seminar banquet? These pages are for those thoughts and lists of ‘to do’. (Room for 3 projects in each book which extends for 90 days).
  • Contacts
Lots of flexibility here. Could use to put warm chatter names in. If you like, use those colored tabs from Office Stores and use the first section for KEY UNIT /TEAM MEMBERS and their prospects…(ignore the A-B if this is your use). Could use a section for personal recruiting prospects/hostesses…Customize this for what you need.
  • 90 Day Calendar
Following contacts is a blank 90 day calendar…3 months. You fill in as you like. The purpose of this is to write in POWER DAYS or design a challenge for your unit/team that you can track. I like the 21 day challenges. Pick 21 days of the month to have POWER DAYS. Defined as:
    - Book one new appointment (skin care class/velocity class/trunk show/ facial-double facial).
    - Make a strong recruiting attempt.
    - Sell something focused on $100 days.
    - Warm chatter and get back 3 names and addresses.
In the calendar, track the days you actually do this. Do it for 90 Days as well as track your daily 6 Most, To Call, To Write, To Delegate, and your personal habits, and WATCH OUT!!!!!!
  • Year At-A-Glance
The 12-month Year At-A Glance calendar is the only date book I personally use. I do also work from a hand held Visor to store the same information as my datebook, but mostly to go into the end of 2002, 2003, etc….I use the hard copy in DESIGN BOOK daily.

Tips for using your 90 day planner:

    1. Fill in a date for every day beginning on DAY 1 of receiving it! (even if it is a Tuesday or not the first of a new month! Procrastination is procrastination!). This also allows you to place a task or appointment forward on a specific date.

    2. Fill in a date for the 90 days at the back of your DESIGN BOOK on the blank calendars. Here, you can track your Mental Bath Days, Your Work Out Days, or use as a date book for appointments. (Pam uses the 12 mo. pull out as her date book and then transfers specific times to the yellow sticky pad placed ON THE DAY it will be used!)

    3. If you are taking vacation and not working on that vacation, skip those dates so that you don't 'lose' pages.

    4. Don't try to 're-use' pages by re-cycling. The value of 90 day tracking is to take an honest look at what was/was not done.

    5. Be aware that every line doesn't need to be written on. The blanks are for you to DESIGN where YOU need/want support!

    6. Use highlighters to mark off completed tasks.

    7. Use post it sticky tabs to divide and mark important pages you return to frequently--Goals, Affirmations, Master Task Lists, Projects, etc.

    8. Use a large clippie to hold and store used daily pages to quickly find your current day.

    9. At the end of each work day, carry un-done tasks forward in priority order as you design your New Day!

    10. Prepare a sticky pad in advance for each new day. Look at your Weekly Plan Sheet, and then allot a time frame for each appointment, errand, or task. Remain accountable in 30 min. segments each day to become aware of where you are 'wasting or losing' time.

    11. Place sticky pads forward on each day to note specific appointments you want to remember.

    12. If you are a 3-ring binder user, take your Design Book to Kinko's and have it hole punched!

    13. Just like any new habit, it takes 21 days of actually doing the 'thing' to get the new habit established. By your 3rd book, you will have taken a promotion if you are taking seriously your activity and accountability
